CAUGHT ON AUDIO, UMNO DEPUTY MINISTER NOW SAYS THAT SLAP REMARK WAS A JOKE?

Umno’s Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman sought to play off his “slap” remark aimed at ethnic Chinese as just a joke, after an audio recording was uploaded onto the Internet, Sin Chew Daily reported this evening.

The deputy agriculture and agro-based industry minister insisted he had not done anything wrong as the comment was made after his news conference yesterday; and even challenged news portal Malaysiakini — which had uploaded the audio clip — to produce a video recording of him saying it instead.

“Do they have the video? Was I still sitting or standing at that time? Or I was about to leave after saying that?

“It was only a joke and not part of the press conference,” he was quoted as saying by the Chinese-language daily in a report posted on its website in English.

Tajuddin, who received immediate criticism, had initially accused Malaysiakini of misquoting him in its article, which had translated the Bahasa Malaysia portion of his remarks to mean that he was threatening to slap the Chinese.

The Pasir Salak MP also told Sin Chew Daily that he did not fear any disciplinary action from his party over the incident as he had not issued any inappropriate statement in an official capacity.

However, Tajuddin’s off-the-cuff remark appears to have riled up even his political allies in Barisan Nasional (BN), with both MCA and Gerakan saying they will issue a formal protest note and ask the coalition leadership to punish the Perak lawmaker.

“MCA will lodge a formal protest via the BN channel and request that the coalition stops and takes action against such a person who has brought destruction towards national unity.

“We want Tajuddin to apologise to the people of Malaysia for his damaging remark,” MCA secretary-general Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan in a statement.

Ong ticked off Tajuddin, telling his Umno ally to first check his facts before issuing such reckless comments on Chinese Malaysians.

Tajuddin’s remark was ostensibly in response to a comment by Chinese ambassador to Malaysia Huang Huikang in Petaling Street last week that Beijing would not hesitate to speak out against any threat that may affect the country’s ties with Malaysia, in commenting on the communal tension here.

It seems that the BN leaders can change their stance overnight. Ku Nan defended Tajudin saying that he was misquoted by the media. Now, what do they have to say since there’s proof of what Tajuddin said. Oh…it was only a joke.

So, since it is a joke, so stop talking about this and don’t sensationalize it. These low grade leaders are truly a waste of tax payer’s money.

MCA URGING DAP TO EXIT FROM SELANGOR GOVT DUE TO TIES WITH PAS.

DAP must exit the Selangor state government to prove it has integrity over severing ties with PAS which is also present in the state government.

MCA Selangor State Liaison Committee secretary Ng Chok Sin said considering the newly formed Pakatan Harapan is minus PAS, DAP should exit the Selangor government or insist that PAS be removed.

“They should insist that Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali must remove PAS elected representatives from the Executive Council, rather than allow PAS to continue lingering. “Rather they form a partnership with breakaway PAS members as a guise to deceive the non-Muslim community,” he said in a press statement.

He said DAP must prove that it has completely severed ties with PAS. “They must not just use Pakatan Harapan to mask that it still maintains ties with PAS.

“DAP had campaigned for PAS in the last general election, whitewashing their theocratic goals. After PAS’ election success, without any remorse, it proceeded to approve the hudud enactment in the Kelantan state legislative assembly besides seeking to table a Private Member’s Bill in the Dewan Rakyat to allow formal implementation of hudud enactment. “

He said DAP must also demand that PKR reviews its relationship with DAP, failing which, DAP should hack its cooperation with PKR. “This is because if DAP continues its alliance with PKR which continues to work together with PAS, then DAP will still be maintaining cooperation with PAS indirectly.

“Hence, Pakatan Harapan becomes a convenient cloak to cover up this indirect co-operation and hence DAP would still be an accomplice to PAS enforcing hudud enactment.” He said DAP must give an ultimatum to PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail that as PAS refused to join, the doors should remain closed to them.

“It should otherwise, eject itself from Pakatan Harapan to indicate that its decision to cut ties with PAS is real, rather than placing hopes that the Opposition coalition’s new name will disguise its existing links to PAS.”

C’mon MCA, is this the BEST you can come up with? Your people have already regarded your party as redundant and yet you are trying to come up with new ways to show your master how good a servant you are? Isn’t this what the whole matter is about?

Comparing to MIC, your party fared better but why it was still rejected by the Chinese community is anyone’s guess. MCA is part of the Barisan Nasional alliance which is very popularly reputed with loudmouth, less commonsense UMNO leaders who go about making nonsensical statements in the government media on a daily basis.

You are now barking at DAP is seen similar as a dog barking at a mountain. Results: No Impact!!You need to realize that when DAP took over the Penang state government, the financial standing was a mess left behind by the GERAKAN. Why? It is because UMNO holds the Trump card on all component parties of BN just like a ‘Big Brother’. Even when they say something sensitive or may be considered inappropriate, you guys just have to shut your gap in order to survive and stay in your reputed positions, as a mere puppet!!

There was once an UMNO man slapped Kamalanathan who holds ministerial position from MIC. No action taken because he was an UMNO man. That alone speaks volumes on your pretentious unity government which the general public can see through and are assessing on a daily basis.

So, why not you just be a good boy and do your work by providing meaningful service to your community? The public are watching daily and know what is going on and how to decipher each action despite what spinning is done in the government controlled TV stations such as the TV3.

NOW, GO DO SOME WORK!!
