From what I have seen so far, the rich & successful don't really know when to stop until it is too late to learn that they have grown too old to enjoy everything that life has to provide.
As for me, the part about what M. Dell says is only applicable to the daily 8 - 10 hours one has to put up for the full-time job (applicable for those who are in salaried jobs).
After work, one has to balance life with other healthy activities such as sports, recreational activities, spiritual, social etc. That will make life meaningful.
If Dell's words are followed literally, life can be pretty boring & monotonous. Some of the very successful people I came to know who are successful at work are actually failures in life. They usually spend most of the nights sinking themselves into intoxication.
